The International Snow Leopard Trust developed "Handspun Camel" yarn as part of the worldwide effort to save the Mongolian snow leopard from extinction. By training herding families in the region to spin & dye this yarn by hand, the Trust is providing economic opportunities to keep the tribes from hunting the snow leopards for their pelts. Every hank of 100% "Handspun Camel" you buy helps with this effort & insures that this extraordinary partnership is successful.
As with all handspun, hand-dyed yarns, colors & thicknesses of the strands will vary, making each creation unique & one of a kind. The availability of the dyed options is seasonal. You can pre-order your favorite dyed color and it will be shipped to you when it comes in. Orders are received in June & October each year.
