The designers at Cherry Tree Hill have taken the ever so popular "Supersock Merino" and developed a new version with the "Potluck" twist called what else but "Supersock Potluck." You still have the super soft, 100% luxury merino, fingering weight yarn you love to use for socks, sweaters, vests and more. But now you have the wonderful, unique "luck of the dyepot" method added in. However, "Supersock Potluck" is not recommended for felting by the manufacturer.
Cherry Tree Hill's "Potluck" yarns are dyed together, but their color saturations are more "fraternal" than "identical" and often one or more in the same dyeing will appear quite different as shown in the yarn images. Also subsequent shipments can look totally different than currently shown even though the Color Family name remains the same.
The "Potluck Color Families" are:
- Watercolors show a washed out or pastel effect.
- Jewel Tones contain the deeper, richer colors (dark purples, blues, greens, and pinks).
- Earth Tones are made up of natural earthy colors. They can be both light and dark (browns, greys, reds, greens).
- Brights range in color from some to all of the colors. Just imagine a rainbow!
- Blues/Greens are made up of different shades of blues and greens.
- Blues/Purples are different shades of blues and purples.
