Karabella's "Aurora 8" yarn is a quality merino wool that comes from a highly respected 120 year-old Italian mill that is a favored supplier to many of the world's top fashion designers. "Aurora 8" ultra premium superwash yarn is favored by these designers for its quality craftsmanship and rich texture. The wool is preshrunk in a special process so you can wash it in lukewarm water. If you try it once, and you'll never want to knit with a different merino wool again.

A marvelous yarn! Nearly identical to Jaeger Extrafine Merino Aran, this brand has many more colors to choose from. Also, since it's an American brand (Jaeger is English), I find the Karabella to be more readily available. Soft, with many tiny plies, this yarn is the last word in worsted, for me.

A beautiful and luminous yarn. I made a Jo Sharp blackberry stitch and double rib sweater with it. It has a lot of give and you can knit it down for a more fitted look. Warm without being oppressive. Great for a guy.
No pilling or any other unpleasent surprises. Guage was dead on.
