A very forgiving yarn for the new knitter. The texture is very soft and the shading is beautiful. My first 2 knitted projects, raglan pullover for my husband and a ruana for myself, worked up easily. Crocheting with the darker colors was difficult to see and it tends to knot easily if you have to rip back. Much prefer to knit with the it.

I am making a prayer shawl and found I am short 2-3 skeins of Plantation Green #327.
Does anyone have any I could buy from them?
Pls email firstname.lastname@example.org if so. Thank you.

I started a prayer shawl and had to quit half way through the first skein. The yarn bunched up behind the knitting and I had to continually push it back down the unknit yarn. It finally piled up so thick that it broke. I didn't like the way it felt, either. Kind of like doll hair. I thought it was being used because it washed well and now I read that it doesn't. The cut ends of this yarn ravels badly so the fringe will look messy after very little wear. What other yarn could I use for this project? I'm taking this stuff back.

I love the Homespun yarn. I have created several scarves and hats from it. I am started a shawl from Homespun Romanesque (#343) last spring, and I have just learned it has been discontinued. I am 2 skeins short, wouldn't you know? LOL If anyone has skeins they would be willing to sell, please let me know at email@example.com. Thank you!

I enjoy this yarn. It doesn't feel "icky" when I crochet with it, it slips easily across my hook, unmatched dye lots coordinate well because of the varigation in many of the colors, the loft makes it very warm for throws and it's very well-priced. If you have sensitive skin, I'd imagine acrylic of any brand would be an unwise choice for you. You don't have to spend an extraordinary amount of money on high-end yarn for it to be a quality product. I have no complaints about Homespun.

I have made a couple things out of the "Holiday Homespun" variety of this yarn. As a novice knitter, I found it to be difficult to work with as the yarn gets bunched-up around the center strand. Also, it splits and frays easily if you accidentally stick your needle through the strand. Finally, in order to keep ends from fraying all over the place, I found I needed to melt the ends with a lighter which works, but leave a little black hard thing.

So now that it's Christmas knitting time I find myself going back to my stash of Holiday Homepsun. I freakin hate this yarn. IMPOSSIBLE to work with. I tried to make a gauge swatch and couldn't count the stiches because the way this crap bunches up. Garbage Garbage Garbage.... and I've got SO much of it. :(

I am in need of 1 skein (actually less) of Homespun Mexicana to complete a blanket for Project Linus. The color has been discontinued. If anyone has one, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
